Borealis AG is starting up a new compounding line for glass fiber products at a plant in Monza, Italy.
The new line will produce Borealis' polypropylene-long glass fiber range, which will increase capacity by a "significant number of kilotons per year," according to the company.
The plant will make products with a glass fiber content ranging from 20-60 percent and are used mainly in automotive and electronic applications.
Borealis also is teaming up with Borouge to launch the Fibermod family of glass fibers, which will bring together the brands that were previously known as Xmod and Nepol.
